NSOFWA BOWA
ZAMBIA
NSOFWA BOWA was a surprise debutant of the workshop, a sculptor from Copperbelt province of Zambia, ventured into stone for the first time and produced an amazing piece entitled , mother nature . Despite the difficulties of handling power tools and working in this not - so - easy medium, he managed to learn how to do his job in the few days at Eagles Rest. He did the job with a unique impression, that practical application of knowledge has power in it, creative solutions are beautiful forever. This dawned to him that he had something more to express in stone even after the workshop, previously worked in cement and casting. He branched into painting and drawing to refresh himself. Insakartists 2003 was a mind opener and stepping stone for Nsofwa and that which will change the approach to his art, he will pursue and wants now to explore stone, making use of once hidden talent to work in stone.
