Ngamanya BANDA
ZAMBIA
NGAMA is a versatile Rockston Studio 1985 apprentice whose experience in stone made him to divert into a conceptual break. Works like big house, women, under five card were highly unusual for Ngamanya, evidence of how such workshops can allow one to go into the unknown world and come back to his Rockston trend. Interestingly his work under five card was like Insakartists 2003 workshop diary, a records of events which were taking place, every single day from drinking, smoking, night fire place, eating, chatting, gossiping, interaction, rumours, all were reflected on the canvas which was by far the heaviest because of these event symbols. The symbols ranged from packet and sticks of cigarette, fire wood, sketches, wood sculpture fragments and many items which bring back the memories of Insakartists 2003. A collaborative interactive art project, inspired by beach volleyball, cross - border, developed between him and Zenzele Chulu.
