MICHEAL SOI
KENYA

MICHEAL SOI from Kenya, a fully packed artist with lots of workshop experience, a painter who uses bright colours, circles and arrows, which can stun the viewer from any distance, does practice conceptual art and installations like the two poles standing less than a meter apart on the edge of Lake Kariba with a green chair between and called it the port. He collects different soccer jerseys which he photographed hanging upside down with Lake Kariba as the majestic background. Soi's favourite adage is to react to the environment and create artistic investigations, he goes on to say, "art is about being creative, independent and I try to do things the way I want them to be done, I want to do something that I am happy with".
