Jakeh Chande is
a creative stone sculptor with a big room of performing art.This combination
has brought yet another dimension of mixed media within the frame
work of his deep thought compositions. Baba Jakeh s' career is associated
with the obvious apprenticeship in the Rockston
Studios through the tutelage of artists David Chirwa and Lutanda
Mwamba. He is sharpened enough to sharpen others as well.

In 1999
he attended Mbile International Artists Workshop and was nominated
in the Most Promising Artist category of Ngoma Awards. In 2001 he
went to Cape Town for artist-in-residence at Greatmore Studios and
attended Thupelo International Artists Workshop. 2002 to 03 attended
artist-in residence programme at Thapong, in Botswana. |
