Although there are many art exchange programs (workshops, fellowships, symposia, etc.) taking place internationally, very few of these have been taken by Ugandan Artists. The problem being that many of the local artists have not been confidently exposed due to lack of competence in their application materials. As a platform for artists’ network and exposure, Ngoma International Artists invited 20 upcoming artists the , to this national training workshop to help develop networking skills amongst Ugandan artists. This made many of them competent enough for both national and international art opportunities.The event took place at the SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS MAKERERE UNIVERSITY KAMPALA on Saturday 12th August 2006 for a full day.The training addressed;
