The “SALON D`ETE” is an initiative of the national Art gallery where works of some 60 Mauritian artists will be on show.

Call for Application Shatana International Artist workshop 2008
Shatana International Artist Workshop 2, Jordan is inviting applications for its 2-week workshop residency program in Shatana, Jordan from the 4th until the 18th of July 2008. Shatana workshop is part of the Triangle Arts Network of artists and is in its 2nd cycle.

Urban Wasanii international workshop 2008 Mombasa Kenya
16th to 28th june 2008
public spaces will contribute to a positive atmosphere and invite people to participate, to create or to congregate on the chosen spaces which the artist chooses. The main aim of this year's workshop is to
* Allow the use of identified spaces and thus the production of an artistic event even to non regular audiences
* Utilize unusual spaces for the production of cultural activities.
* Encourage cultural exchange of experiences and practices with people from different communities and regions.
* Encourage cultural exchange of ideas and practices among the selected artists
Kuona trust is looking for professional visual artists working in all media who are willing to set aside their normal studio work for two weeks, and experiment;
*With different media
*working within a public spaces
*collaborating with other artists or the local community
A letter of intent
A detailed CV and artist statement
6 jpeg images of your current work each image should be under 80 K
Kuona will provide
* Transportation to and from workshop venue, * Meals and accommodation for the entire workshop, * Transportation in the city of Mombasa

GoodHopeArt studios invites applications for residency
GoodHopeArt is a dynamic organisation that provides working studio and exhibition space for local and international professional visual artists to develop their artistic practice. To participate in this special exchange, please contact Nico Eilers on nico.eilers@telkomsa.netor alternatively phone 083 285 78 74. GoodHope Art also facilitates art bridging workshops and life drawing classes for emerging artists.
Residency at Domboramwari Art Village Zimbabwe
Under the aegis of the Triangle Art Network, Domboramwari Art Village has developed a revolving residency programme that invites artists from the region to participate in artistic and cultural exchange at the studios 30km outside Harare . The residency programme with financial assistance from the Ford Foundation provides professional and emerging artists with an unique opportunity to work alongside artist from very diverse backgrounds. Artists enrolled in the programme are expected to initiate outreach projects in the local community –while some of these workshops will have a strong educational emphasis, artists will also be encouraged to reach an older generation, offering lecturers and talk s in established universities and art centres in Harare and surrounding areas. Artists will primarily work developing their own body of work. Bag Factory South Africa ongoing Residencies
The residency programme at the Bag Factory allows artists from around the world to spend a period of three months working in a collective of artists' studios based in downtown Johannesburg. The programme offers you the opportunity to interact with local artists, to expand your network internationally and to experience a climate of cultural diversity. Working at the studios, you will get to know the permanent artists at the Bag Factory, the city of Johannesburg and something about the art world in South Africa. Applicants should not expect to profit financially from their stay in South Africa, as this is cultural development programme. To learn more go to http://www.bagfactoryart.org.za/
Vermont Studio USA Residency
The VermontStudioCenter offers 4 - 12 week independent studio Residencies year-round (with a limited number of 2-week Residencies) for 52 artists and writers per month (24 painters, 12 sculptors, 2 printmakers, 2 photographers, and 12 writers). All VSC Residents receive private studio space appropriate to their medium (open 24 hours a day), simple private rooms and excellent food. In addition to the opportunity for focused, independent work VSC Residents can interact informally with a large and varied community of professional peers as well as through open studio evenings, slide showings, and readings that allow those Residents who wish to share their work with one another.
