Why are we here?

What does "it" mean,

to be?

Looking, mind's eye reflecting

Eye am.

Heart is.

Hand moves.

Art in Africa is not just about "traditional artefacts". There is a contemporary art that feeds into the rhythm of life, the heat of the sun, the music, the people. Most of the "traditional arts" such as mural design, pottery designs, floor designs are purely abstract and are about pattern drawn from the rhythms of life. Abstraction reflects life is realism; realism is abstraction. We all do whatever, in response to the heart.

There are many cultures in Africa that take part on that rhythm and that life. It is a privilege to be here.
